Description Sean C. Burbidge 2005-11-30 01:13:42 UTC
Version: 1.1.3 (using KDE 3.4.3, Gentoo)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5-20050130 (Gentoo 3.3.5.20050130-r1, ssp-3.3.5.20050130-1, pie-8.7.7.1)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.13-gentoo

Currently, pressing Ctrl+A or clicking Select|All when the article list has focus doesn't select all of the articles. When the article list has focus, it should select all of the articles, not the article summary text, as is the current behavior. Ctrl+click and Shift+click should also select individual articles or a series of articles, respectively. This is standard behavior in most apps anyway. :)

"Select all" misbehaviour confirmed still persisting as of 1.2.5, KDE 3.5.5.

Ctrl+click and Shift+click in article list work as I'd expect though.

Hi,
This would seem a bug to me. i.e. kmail has the expected behaviour. I think the userinterface should be consistent across the applications.

Works for me in KDE 3.5.9 from openSuSE 10.3

The commit breaks the usability in akregator. Need to find other way to solve this bug.

Thanks. What do you find broken? What usability issues to you encounter?

It is the bug 304563.

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of akregator (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.08 or later), it gets closed in about three months.
Comment 14 Denis Kurz 2017-01-07 22:24:44 UTC
Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
