Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.2) Installed from: Gentoo Packages OS: Linux Bug 50442 and Bug 61144 state that Addressbook integration is finished, but i think there is more to do. At least it would be nice, if the IM-Contacts would be automatically added to a linked Addressbook entry. As i understand it, currently you can import and export data to the addressbook. Why does Kopete still not use the Addressbook as real backend for its contacts? I'd suggest that Kopete saves all available/possible information in the Addressbook, and then have the possibility to preview/update the Addressbook entry with current data from the IM servers. I see, that IRC Channels can hardly be stored in the KDE-Addressbook, but i think anything else could. greet, Caliga
I agree with this, I thought the newly added contacts which I connected to an addressbook entry were automaticly added to the addressbook, but unfortunately this is not the case. There is another problem related to this. Connections between Kopete contacts and addressbook seem to get lost from time to time. I can not reproduce this, may be it comes through updates with Debian. For this reason I would agree with above suggestion, since it would solve this problem.
Additionally: The other way around also does not work. So if I add a IM-contact in the addressbook, it does not show up on kopete or asks for being added. Do I have to file a separate report to the kaddressbook application or can this be seen as one business?

I won't open a new bug but auto association with addressbook entries would be nice. for example if I have both kaddressbook and kopete populated and they both have aim accounts with the same username listed shouldn't they be automatically linked?
Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained. Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
