Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.2) Installed from: Compiled From Sources It just happend the second time to me within the last few weeks. All my addressbook data got lost! The size of std.vcf is 0. And as I apparently didn't look into it for several days, also all backup copies have meanwhile been overwritten with that empty file! Unfortunately I can't give more details on that, as I have no idea when it happens. However, whatever the actual bug might be, IMHO the real problem is, that the addressbook should obviously be way more conservative with its backup data, so that I have at least a chance to recover something. Couldn't it only overwrite the backup data if actually something changed? Like saving temporarily, then comparing hash values and only if different overwrite. Or at least only if I actually used the addressbook?

The development of the old KAddressBook will be discontinued for KDE 4.4. Since the new application has the same name, but a completly new code base we close all bug reports against the old version and ask the submitters to resend there reports against the new product.
