Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.0) Installed from: SuSE RPMs OS: Linux It would be great if the feed information could be stored on a remote system, so the information can be shared among several computers. Right I use 2 different (seperated) computers, but the same feeds. Unfortenately the feed information from both are not shared and as such I need to synchronize the feed information. Something similar as imap for email (right now akregator is in pop3 mode).
I think Google Reader synchro would be enough. It's allready on the todo list, acording to wiki.

I agree with the OP. Every other piece of functionality in Kontact can use IMAP folders as resources, implementing the same for Akgregator would complete the package. I'd rather not have to use something external like Google Reader just to sync my feeds. This feature would make Akgregator infinitely more usable IMO.
It wouldn't work if neither of the two computer is a laptop.
Storing the information into additional place would be one approach, but I think that syncing it with general framework would be even better. A modular approach for this would be to write a http://opensync.org/ plugin, represent the data to other reader device (like mobile pda/phone) in its own format or in XML. All that would be needed at akregator side would be a sane access to the article scores as described in bug #172654.
Adding a bump to this 3 years after the last comment. I think, ESPECIALLY, with KDE's new focus on mobile, netbooks, tablets, etc it would be great if I could have the same feeds on both devices and have them sync their read status.
Akregator (4.9.3) can share using identi.ca or twitter. The support for opensync.org is already requested in bug #172654 so I am closing this bug. Thank you
