Description Aleksey Nogin 2005-04-29 11:58:34 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.1)
Installed from: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux

After an IP address of the machine changes (e.g. I move my laptop to another location), korganizer becomes unable to access remote calendars. Even restarting korganizer does not help and only restarting KDE works.

Possibly related: bug 74484 covers a similar problem with IMAP connections in kmail. Could this be a bug in the underlying networking libs in KDE?
Comment 1 Thiago Macieira 2005-04-29 13:52:05 UTC
Could be related to DCOP.

Does your hostname change along with your IP?
Comment 2 Aleksey Nogin 2005-04-29 21:15:59 UTC
Hostname does _not_ change.

If I run "netstat --inet" I see:

Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address State
tcp 1 0 <old ip>:58136 <server>:http CLOSE_WAIT
tcp 1 0 <old ip>:58135 <server>:http CLOSE_WAIT

(I have two remote calendars on the server) and these do not go away. Using lsof, I find out that the two connections are held by the following two processes:

USER PID %CPU %MEM VSZ RSS TTY STAT START TIME COMMAND

Reassigning all KOrganizer bug reports and wishes to the newly created
korganizer-devel mailing list.
Comment 4 Denis Kurz 2016-09-24 18:43:55 UTC
This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of korganizer (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.08 or later), it gets closed in about three months.
Comment 5 Denis Kurz 2017-01-07 21:57:46 UTC
Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
