Description Patrick Huber 2003-03-01 13:53:35 UTC
Version: 1.5 (using KDE KDE 3.1)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

There have been quite a few requests regarding mail editing in the outbox or drafts folder.
I wonder why you separate drafts and out mail from received mail in that matter... So here's my sugestion:

1) make all mails editable by double click in the list view as well as in the display area (where i read the mail body).
2) add an option in the settings to let the user choose from the traditional popup for editing and creating mails and the idea that follows below
3) embed the popup's content in the display area. since we're talking of qt, this should not be too hard (never worked with qt myself, though) so I can edit mails without the annoying new window.

double clicking into the display area from 1) and complete 3) are features actually implemented by ibm's lotus notes and I consider these quite useful.

kind regards

I'd love to see this. I get many voicemails in my email, and all have the same "voicemail in email" subject. I often use Mutt to give these mails a more descriptive subject. It would be very nice if I could stick to KMail for this!

For me, it would be enough if the "Edit message" (T fast-key) command were enabled in any folder.

its nice, that I can edit any message in kmail2, but if I edit a message and save it, a copy is stored in draft-folder. In most cases the original should be overwritten? other opinions?
