Clock widget settings

SUMMARY
I would like to be able to set the lockscreen clock to 24 hour without changing my locale. I'm an American who, unlike other Americans, uses 24 hour clock on all my devices. The desktop clock widget allows the user to easily change to a 24 hour clock without changing the locale, but if there is a way on the lock screen I haven't found it yet.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open lock screen settings
2. Try to set 24 hour clock time display

OBSERVED RESULT
No setting exists.

EXPECTED RESULT
Setting exists that allows the user to switch to 24 hour clock time display.

This seems worth considering

You don't need to change the entire locale to change your time formatting systemwide; you can change just the time formatting in System Settings > Region & Language > Time > Modify. Is there a reason why that doesn't work for you?

I confirmed on two systems that setting the time locale to "C" allows me to have 24h time on the lock screen, with no side-effects.

Mae, would this work for you?

Unfortunately this is not a great solution for me. The reason being: I want US-style dates (mm/dd/yyyy) since I'm used to them and 24 hour clock and none of the included locales I can find support this.

Basically you'll have to find a locale that uses both American-style dates as well as 24-hour time. If none exists, then I'm afraid you're out of luck, because it isn't maintainable for us to add time formatting customization to every single click on the system… at least until we implement Bug 340982. Marking as a duplicate of that.
