STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install kid3
2. Open kid3
3. 

OBSERVED RESULT
kid3 opens error message (see attachment)

EXPECTED RESULT
kid3 would open normally

Probably, you are using an old version. This has been fixed with commit [48654919] and should no longer happen with versions >= 3.8.4.
