Fire up the kickoff menu or any other applet 2. Pin it 3. Open overview (Meta+Ctrl+D or hot corner) STEPS TO REPRODUCE 2 (without pinning) 1. trigger overview (Meta+Ctrl+D or hot corner) 2. Meta (for triggering the kickoff) 3. a ghost window will show up. OBSERVED RESULT kickoff and other applets are considered as "windows" in overview effect.
