I periodically experience this too. It's very annoying. I have no idea how to trigger it though. I've only noticed it affecting Plasma applets though. When you hit this, does it affect all KDE apps, or just some? Does it affect GTK apps too? I haven't noticed any GTK app being affected. This only affects widgets as far as I can tell. Just Plasma applets or some KDE apps too? I'm not sure which are considered applets and which are considered apps. As far as I can tell it only affects the ones in the description (application launcher, clock/calendar, yakuake). But I don't use many apps or widgets so other things might also be affected. From what I can tell, KSysGuard (KDE app), RStudio (QT app), and SubLime (GTK), which are full windowed apps, are not affected. Yakuake is an app too. Odd. No idea what to do with this. Are you using Wayland or X11? This is in X11. I genuinely have no idea how to triage this. If it was just Plasma applets, I'd send it to plasmashell. But if Yakuake (and only Yakuake) is also affected, then I have no idea, because its input doesn't go through Plasma. Feels like a deeper issue in the input stack somewhere. Sending to plasmashell anyway so people smarter than me can suggest something more intelligent. Created attachment 138396 [details]

Think that this is perhaps related to returning from sleep mode. At least that's when I think I've seen it. Seen the issue with krunner, application launcher search, and yakuake. Possibly that other plasma applets are affected too. Browser is never affected, for example. Also think it is a duplicate of: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=427921 and thus unrelated to wayland/x11 (In reply to Johannes Claesson from comment #9) > Think that this is perhaps related to returning from sleep mode. Did yo by any chance close IBus on a system that had it active by default? If so, this is Bug 417994. Sorry, just noticed it is indeed a duplicate of 417994. However, in the past it used to happen without ibus too. Haven’t had this happen anymore unless ibus is involved though. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 417994 *** *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 428213 *** |
