*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 426746 ***
Comment 2 alexmateescu 2020-10-18 21:57:20 UTC
Are you sure this is a duplicate of a bug fixed in Plasma 5.20 and Frameworks 5.75? I can reproduce it while using precisely that?
Comment 3 Nate Graham 2020-10-24 22:06:38 UTC
Seems like this is reporting a different issue.

Cannot reproduce FWIW.
Comment 4 Alexander Lohnau 2020-10-30 07:53:56 UTC
It appears the MR has landed a bit too late for the 5.75 tagging. So it will be fixed in 5.76. Please see https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=426746#c3 for a workaround.
Comment 5 alexmateescu 2021-04-04 21:58:42 UTC
Not only is this not resolved in 5.80, the problem seems to not be confined to KRunner only. I got the same unresponsive behavior while entering text in the Application Menu's search box. I bet I can reproduce it in various other input fields as well.
Comment 6 Nate Graham 2021-04-05 16:06:36 UTC
I cannot reproduce it. Can you please attach a screen recording that shows the problem? Thanks!
Comment 7 alexmateescu 2021-04-05 21:02:54 UTC
Screen recording on Wayland? How? Last I tried it, all I got was a blank video of my mouse cursor.
I can try recording the screen with my camera on a tripod, if you think that will yield something usable, but it will take a while to do that.
Comment 8 Nate Graham 2021-04-05 21:24:08 UTC
Yeah you could use your phone.

I can't show the KRunner problem, because KRunner doesn't show up after a few invocations. But I'm linking you a video of the same problem in Application Menu (video is too big to attach).

Probably the issue is not with KRunner, but with the input control itself (or maybe Qt?)
Comment 11 alexmateescu 2021-10-27 21:45:05 UTC
It's working now with 5.23
Comment 12 Nate Graham 2021-10-28 16:36:42 UTC
Oh good. :)
