Created attachment 120316 [details] Screenshot for the bug, with minor comments SUMMARY Okular typewrite (annotation) doesn't show Chinese characters on the page (but is displayed normally in the popup note). STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open a PDF file with okular 2. Select "typewriter" annotation tool 3. type any Chinese (e.g. "啊啊啊" (ahhhh)), surrounded with Latin characters (the second part is not necessary, but useful to test) OBSERVED RESULT Chinese characters are not shown. If surround the Chinese characters with Latin characters, the Latin part is shown and no space is preserved for Chinese characters. (This rules out font issues; I also checked the font which is a valid Chinese font, Source Han Sans.) EXPECTED RESULT Chinese characters are displayed correctly. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS KDE Plasma Version: N/A (I'm using Awesome WM) KDE Frameworks Version: 5.58.0 Qt Version: 5.12.3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
