Do you use focus follows mouse? Do you use focus follows mouse? - Yes Are you describing the same thing as https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=388744 ? I think this is likely a duplicate. I'll add that if I'm quick and the mouse is moving as I click I can have the mouse under the pop-up list before the list appears and then it works as expected but you have to be very quick! Happy for this to be marked as a dup of 388744 Thanks. I'm hoping to do something like http://bjk5.com/post/44698559168/breaking-down-amazons-mega-dropdown *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 388744 *** That's nice but I think this problem is simpler - the previews seem to sit a few pixels lower than the dropdown so there is no gap between the taskbar and the preview. The dropdown seems to hover just above the taskbar leaving a gap of a few pixels exposing the desktop so the mouse must go taskbar:desktop:dropdown (except the as soon as it hits the desktop the dropdown vanishes). It doesn't matter what path the mouse takes it cannot avoid the desktop! @davidedmundson: Both Kicker and Dashboard have implementations of lazy menus btw.
