Submenu opens on wrong screen, Plasma 5.8
I've subsequently noticed this happening too. If I open a menu (whether from the panel or the desktop) on the right hand edge of the top monitor, and it has a submenu which would appear partly outside the monitor if it appeared to the right of the parent menu, it'll appear on the inbuilt laptop screen instead. Menus anywhere else on either screen don't seem to be affected.
Should I open a separate bug, or wait to see if it turns out to be the same underlying cause?
A clarification to the above: when I said 'moving the launcher icon on the panel had no effect' I misspoke - as you can probably guess from the screenshot, the launcher appears as close as it can to the right spot, but on the wrong screen. This holds true however I arrange my screens. Also, I tried switching to SDDM, but that didn't change anything. I'll try a Live USB when I get a moment later. Newly created user accounts don't show the problem. I really thought I'd checked that already (maybe I did, but before recent updates?) At any rate, I think it's probably safe to close this on the assumption that it's some kind of cruft in my dotfiles (the user account is at least 6 years old), and won't be reproducible. If you want any further information please ask, and sorry for wasting your time. |
