The panel will no longer react to middle clicks in Plasma 5.3. People request "start new instance" vs. "close" at about equal rates for middle-click on tasks. How about adding a drop-down to config, which contains: none(default), start new instance, close? That would satisfy most people. *** Bug 346049 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** (In reply to Eike Hein from comment #1) > The panel will no longer react to middle clicks in Plasma 5.3. > > People request "start new instance" vs. "close" at about equal rates for > middle-click on tasks. IMHO, middle clicking on the task thumbnail should close it. If you middle click the icon it should open a new instance. Well, I personally find the tooltips annoying and have them disabled, but still would like to close tasks fast. Besides tooltip has a close button already. *** Bug 346220 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** 5.4 will have "On middle-click: None / Close Group or Window / New Instance" options. cf. https://git.reviewboard.kde.org/r/123547/ and http://quickgit.kde.org/?p=plasma-desktop.git&a=commit&h=ebc796a61db738a1f955d2d50a8921c7c312f1bf |
