Are you sure you have the same bug with 4.11.1? See also bug 321706. The situation has changed with kde 4.11.1. I can edit the filetype and default applications, tou are right. But, if I click on a file it doesn't change... I have a lot of .xml files. I can now edit the default application BUT they are identified as html files and the navigator open them. A file .exl (a kind of .cvs) is theoretically opened with libreoffice, but if I click on it, a pop-up windows asks me if I want to download an application to download it. See also bug 324502 comment #1. Thanks a lot for your quick answer. Ok for .exl files. For .xml files, some are opened with konqueror, others with emacs and others a popup window asks me for an application. Editing the file association does not change anything. It is maybe a problem with opensuse 12.3. It did not occur with kde 4.10. Dear Bug Submitter, This bug has been stagnant for a long time.
