Thanks for the info - sorry, I don't check this account as often as I should. One thing weird I found that really messes it up is that I am running everything off a truecrypt partition, and if Amarok comes up before the partition is mounted, it doesn't seem to react well. ----- Original Message ---- From: Dmitrijs Kosjaks <dikos78@gmail.com> To: earthforce_1@yahoo.com Sent: Fri, November 12, 2010 9:50:59 PM Subject: [Bug 252597] Amarok crashes when trying to save a playlist [@ BrowserCategoryList::showCategory] https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=252597 --- Comment #24 from Dmitrijs Kosjaks <dikos78 gmail com> 2010-11-13 03:50:54 --- Created an attachment (id=53382) --> (http://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=53382) New crash information added by DrKonqi amarok (2.3.2) on KDE Platform 4.5.3 (KDE 4.5.3) using Qt 4.7.0 - What I was doing when the application crashed: Simply trying to save playlist with radio streams -- Backtrace (Reduced): #7 QModelIndex (this=0x8a2bf08, child=...) at ../../include/QtCore/../../src/corelib/kernel/qabstractitemmodel.h:65 #8 QSortFilterProxyModel::parent (this=0x8a2bf08, child=...) at itemviews/qsortfilterproxymodel.cpp:1656 #9 0x05e6f942 in parent (this=0x8a2d718, index=...) at ../../include/QtCore/../../src/corelib/kernel/qabstractitemmodel.h:389 #10 QTreeView::indexRowSizeHint (this=0x8a2d718, index=...) at itemviews/qtreeview.cpp:2758 #11 0x05e7016b in QTreeViewPrivate::itemHeight (this=0x8a2c018, item=0) at itemviews/qtreeview.cpp:3229 Thanks for the info. Looks like someone fixed this issue already in the latest git. I see quite many commits by Rick W. Chen. Could someone please confirm this ? Checkout Myriam's blog @ http://blogs.fsfe.org/myriam/2009/09/compiling-amarok-from-git-locally-full-summary for an easy way of installing amarok from git in your home directory - without touching the original installation. Myriam, My backtrace doesn't look like the one in #256869 In fact my bt has essentially the same elements as in the original reporter's case (bug #252597). -----------[snip]------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ #34 0x00007f88ab37fa2e in QWidget::show (this=0x25fdb20, name=<value optimized out>) at /usr/include/qt4/QtGui/qwidget.h:487 #35 BrowserCategoryList::showCategory (this=0x25fdb20, name=<value optimized out>) at ../../src/browsers/BrowserCategoryList.cpp:168 #36 0x00007f88ab37fe3b in BrowserCategoryList::navigate (this=<value optimized out>, target=<value optimized out>) at ../../src/browsers/BrowserCategoryList.cpp:298 #37 0x00007f88ab380026 in BrowserCategoryList::navigate (this=<value optimized out>, target=<value optimized out>) at ../../src/browsers/BrowserCategoryList.cpp:328 #38 0x00007f88ab772d98 in NavigationUrlRunner::run (this=<value optimized out>, url=<value optimized out>) at ../../src/amarokurls/NavigationUrlRunner.cpp:50 #39 0x00007f88ab76d6ae in AmarokUrlHandler::run (this=<value optimized out>, url=) at ../../src/amarokurls/AmarokUrlHandler.cpp:116 #40 0x00007f88ab769563 in AmarokUrl::run (this=0x7fffb78498f0) at ../../src/amarokurls/AmarokUrl.cpp:122 #41 0x00007f88ab70216c in PlaylistManager::save (this=0x1daae80, tracks=) at ../../src/playlistmanager/PlaylistManager.cpp:306 -----------[snip]------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ For me, the crash used to happen _every time_ I click the save playlist button (Note that I used the code from git(on 2010-11-11) - probabiliy that is why my stack trace looks little different from the others ). But now, using the latest code from git, I don't get any crash while doing the same steps. Everything seems to work fine now. Dennis, the backtrace in comment #19 shows this as the crash origin: #18 0xb6eb9343 in PlaylistBrowserNS::PlaylistBrowserView::viewportEvent (this=0x94aeed8, event=0xbfdff888) at /home/dennis/devel/kde/src/amarok/src/browsers/playlistbrowser/PlaylistBrowserView.cpp:320 So does the backtrace in comment #20: #18 0xb6eb9343 in PlaylistBrowserNS::PlaylistBrowserView::viewportEvent (this=0x94aeed8, event=0xbfdff888) at /home/dennis/devel/kde/src/amarok/src/browsers/playlistbrowser/PlaylistBrowserView.cpp:320 and again in comment #21: #18 0xb6eb9343 in PlaylistBrowserNS::PlaylistBrowserView::viewportEvent (this=0x94aeed8, event=0xbfdff888) at /home/dennis/devel/kde/src/amarok/src/browsers/playlistbrowser/PlaylistBrowserView.cpp:320 which is definitely a different bug. It is not enough to have similar elements in a backtrace, it depends on the first occurence. Ok, but in my case, the crash was not sporadic, it was perfectly repeatable. BTW, did you check if the code from current git solves #252597 ? Atleast I don't get any crash when I follow the steps mentioned by the original reporter of #252597 (which is supposed to be a repeatable one). Hello, what I have to do for resolve the problem?
