addendum : i don't use phonon but mplayer as mplayerthumbnail engine curiously in dolphin selector we see movie preview in its right panel Thanks for the report! strange : digikam and konqueror file dialog are different

The last image is about Digikam, which I think implements its folder browsing in a different way. You could create a wish report for Digikam to support this movie previews.
