I'm using Kubuntu Karmic Alpha 5. Version 4.3.1 (KDE 4.3.1) (I was not sure what to chose from the menu, cause i receive updates very often here. Therefore i decided that it is nearly svn/snapshot.) applications: work: kmix networkmanagement tested, dont work: pidgin skype konversation steam.exe via wine (imo every app) This is a limitation on the old freeDesktop.org system tray protocol, it can't be fixed (icons can only be shown in one location....) The icons you are seeing properly are using the new system tray protocol implementation which allows this. Look at bug 181041, bug 180114 comment 2, and bug 179625 comment 2 for more information. Hopefully more KDE applications will be adapted to use the new protocol; however we can't do anything for non-KDE4 apps if the implementation standard is not adapted. Regards This bug is still valid for the kde apps that are not yet ported to the new freedesktop standard - is there a bug tracking progress of that migration? |
