If you can reproduce the crash at will, may you read http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports and post a complete backtrace here? You need to install the "kdepim-dbg" package. Thanks okay, now this is the last line of the bash output when I launched Kontact from bash and clicked on the Calendar tab. kontact: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libkorganizerprivate.so.4: undefined symbol: _ZN12LibKHolidays9KHolidaysC1ERK7QString What are the version of the packages: "kdelibs5-*", "kdepimlibs-*" and "kdepim-*" ? You seem to have some version mismatch. (Also "Version: 4.2.2 (using KDE 4.2.96)") Thanks I don't know how to find that out, sorry. Using KPackageKit: kdelibs5, kdepimlibs: 4:4.2.96-0ubuntu2~jaunty1~ppa1(I386) kdepim: 4:4.2.96-0ubuntu2~jaunty1~ppa1(all) But it is grey in kpackagekit. Merging with bug 197047.
