After some additional experimentation it seems that it ignores all other settings either - if I configure Timeout to be 30 minutes, the screensaver still starts after 15 minutes. Apparently something called PowerDevil is causing this. Disable it in System Setting>Advanced>KDE Services Configuration>Startup Services and then uncheck PowerDevil. Notes here: http://forum.kde.org/session-locks-by-itself-t-37815.html Hello Bob, I confirm that this worked for me, but I consider this just a workaround for a real bug, which still needs to be fixed. Thanks, Alex *** Bug 192571 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** disabling powerdevil did not work for me my screen still locks. i have made power setting performance, i have put if screen is idle to do nothing, i have changed everything that has anything to do with the screen locking to disabled, nothing has worked This happens to me on 4.3.1 Confirmed here. I think. There are so many bugs related to display power :P My monitor blanks randomly, originally it seemed to be every ten minutes, but it isn't constant. When it happens, the light on my Viewsonic monitor is still green, which makes me think it is the "Blank screen" screensaver and not display power settings. It has happened while watching videos before too. This is also random. About 10% of the times I watch a video, the player fails to override whatever is doing this. the original report was confirmed to be powerdevil interfering (which makes it a duplicate). the other reports need to be re-checked by the reporters and filed separately if still occurring. one unaccounted for source of confusion might be an xscreensaver running in the background - i once saw this myself. *** Bug 203209 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** As from the last comment from Oswald, I'm closing this bug as fixed, as this issue (double power management) was fixed in 4.7. |
