Description Richard Hartmann 2008-10-09 13:00:31 UTC
Version: 4.1.2 (KDE 4.1.2) (using 4.1.2 (KDE 4.1.2), Debian packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.26-1-686

Reproduce:

* Load viewing profile from http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=171506
* Press CTRL-A on a page to select all text.
* Right-click on any text, look at context menu. The search for foo with Google & Search for foo with -> options are not displayed correctly.

Expected behaviour:

Show the normal Search for foo with bar options.

See attached screenshot for details.

Broken search for interface

With a current trunk version I get a nicely squeezed 'Search for "K Desktop Envir..." with Google' entry. Mayb this is simply fixed since 4.1.2?
Comment 3 David Faure 2008-10-09 14:02:56 UTC
Are you using a specific widget style?
Comment 4 David Faure 2008-10-09 14:05:09 UTC
Oh, or maybe this happens when the text to search contains a newline. That is something I fixed recently with simplifiedSelectedText indeed...
Comment 5 David Faure 2008-10-09 14:06:20 UTC
That was r826895 in 4.1 branch, for bug 113177, in July.
But that fix is in 4.1.2 then...
Comment 6 Richard Hartmann 2008-10-09 14:20:33 UTC
Harri: Did you load my viewing profile? Konqui has quite a few issues when I use that..

David: No, I am not
Comment 7 Harri Porten 2008-10-09 14:32:22 UTC
Yes. I used your profile and got all those tabs. Did you try whether the problem also occurs without your profile if you visit the same site in a single tab?
Comment 8 Richard Hartmann 2008-10-09 14:41:46 UTC
It only occurs when I use my view.

If it does not occur with the anonymized view, i am somewhat SOL. Although there is nothing secret in it, I would still prefer not to disclose my web habits to the internet at large.

I would be willing to send the file to people directly, though. Provided that they don't distribute it themselves, for any reason.

Any takers?

Cannot reproduce with either one of the browser engines. Feel free to reopen this ticket if the issue persists for you in more recent versions of KDE, v4.7.4 or higher.
