It just happened again and I indeed still have a running kmail process. So I guess this kmail process is regularly looking for new mail in the background. A further remark: kmail just crashes, I don't get asked for a password to actually access the mail server... [if the regular mail checking theory is correct this might be helpful] *** Bug 168909 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** I've just experienced this bug on r902024:
1) started kmail
2) asked for the IMAP password but I've entered it wrong
3) CTRL+L for checking new mail
-> crash.
I cannot reproduce the crash anymore, anyway the backtrace looks similar:
