Version:            (using KDE KDE 3.5.6)
Installed from:    Ubuntu Packages

When changing themes, for example to a darker background, the effect is not visible on all panels leaving the application looking a bit inconsistent.  The Metadata, Colour and Comments and Tags panels all remain the default colour.
It would be nice for them changes to apply to all components.

Alan,

This problem is know. KDE4/QT4 port will simplify this task. Port is currently under way...

I happy to said that this feature is implemented in KDE3 and KDE4 version of digiKam. Look here :
