This is somewhat related to bug 104202, but not really because I believe it is MSN-specific code. When the MSN network is in an unstable state, you can go online and offline many times over the course of an hour. It is very annoying to have to click "OK" on 15 pop-up alert dialogs when the connection goes offline, then online, then offline, etc.

A similar thing happens to me every morning when I come log into my laptop and my wireless connection timed out overnight.

I agree with 104202 in that network status notifications should be passive dialogs and unobtrusive. After all these is no action you can perform to remedy the situation anyway so I don't see why you need to interrupt the user with an in-your-face alert.
