*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 101420 *** oops. *** This bug has been confirmed by popular vote. *** This bug is preventing a certain track that I play from being submitted to last.fm. See here for more info: http://www.last.fm/forum/21713/_/132706/1 Not directly connected to this link maybe, but since you're quoting the specs, bug #137230 mentions version 1.2 .. So what about this bug? It's a year old, I just read these days that picard is more and more used. Using its own mbid tags would sure be appreciated. TRM = old MB system, PUID = new MB (Picard) system for comparing tracks to find a listing. Neither has anything to do with MBIDs, unique IDs for every artist, track, and release that NEVER change. Note: Changes to the way last.fm handles submitted data is most likely going to make submitting MBIDs incredibly helpful in ensuring the correct information is shown on last.fm. Amarok 2 is not out yet. This would be the perfect time to include submitting MBIDs. So how about it? Does amarok2 use MBIDs? (Sorry I'm too lazy to dig the sources :-/ ) (In reply to comment #8) > So how about it? Does amarok2 use MBIDs? (Sorry I'm too lazy to dig the sources > :-/ ) > No, not yet it doesn't. How are MBIDs supposed to get embedded in the files? (In reply to comment #9) > How are MBIDs supposed to get embedded in the files? Well, at least picard does embed them, it's the main musicbrainz tagger application. I don't know of any other programs that set these tags (but I didn't look for that, so there might be some). http://musicbrainz.org/doc/PicardTags shows that it writes various tags to the files: musicbrainz_trackid musicbrainz_artistid musicbrainz_albumid musicbrainz_albumartistid Leo, any ideas about that? If people tag their collection with Picard, what would we have to do on our side? So will this (finally) be included in Amarok? Jeff, wasn't Amarok using MB tags to determine tracks? And isn't it liblastfm's thing to submit data to last.fm? If we're using MB tags already, and submitting info to last.fm is liblastfm share we can close this one. Half of getting what you want in life is getting the attention of the right person. :-) Fixed in 7f4b5765170ff471f69f1bf0d717df63491e91a8. |
