Audioscrobbler/Last.fm created a new specification for their submission protocol. I think that the amarok team knows about it, but I have not seen any changes in the svn repository.

Please don't misunderstand me. I saw that there are some parts from the protocol 1.2 (rfc...not final) in the code, but the protocol gone final.
