This looks like a bug of #48267. Hi, i can open normaly .7z files with ark. Are you sure that you have the p7zip utility installed? Indeed .7z are not associated with ark, but i dont have the knowledge to fix it. Can someone look at it? On Sat 18 Mar 2006 16:11, Haris Kouzinopoulos wrote:

Here it is correctly associated with ark. Which kdelibs version are you using?
Can you check if the MIME-type application/x-7z is installed?
Anyway, support for 7z archives in Ark is broken with recent p7zip versions. I
plan to fix that soon.
As mentioned on the beginning of this bug report I use KDE 3.5.1. I also use p7zip-4.33. I do have MIME-type application/x-7z but I had to associate it with ark and xarchiver manually. I rechecked it by deleting ./kde and then viewing KDE control center -> KDE Components -> File Associacions -> application ->x-7z and there was no application associated. It still doesn't work with KDE 3.5.3. I checked it with precompiled binaries. Does 7zip have to be present in the system during KDE compilation? now with 3.5.6 *.7z files are recognized but neither adding nor extracting files works. I receive following error messages: 1) FOR ADDING: The addition operation failed. 7-Zip 4.43 beta Copyright (c) 1999-2006 Igor Pavlov 2006-09-15 p7zip Cersion 4.43 (locale=pl_PL,Utf16=on,HugeFiles=on,1 CPU) Error: There are no installed archive handlers 2) FOR EXTRACTING: The extraction operation failed. 7-Zip 4.43 beta Copyright (c) 1999-2006 Igor Pavlov 2006-09-15 p7zip Cersion 4.43 (locale=pl_PL,Utf16=on,HugeFiles=on,1 CPU) Error: /data/spam.7z is not supported archive Errors: 1 7-Zip 4.43 beta Copyright (c) 1999-2006 Igor Pavlov 2006-09-15 p7zip Cersion 4.43 (locale=pl_PL,Utf16=on,HugeFiles=on,1 CPU) Processing archive: /data/spam.7z Error: /data/spam.7z is not supported archive On Wed 31 Jan 2007 21:19, Andrzej wrote:

Are you able to add and extract files from the command line interface?
Yes. I'm able to add and extract files from the command line interface and also when I use Xarchiver frontend. Should p7zip be present in the system during KDE compilation? *** Bug 141531 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** 7zip is now supported in trunk. |
