Description Sergey Y. Afonin 2004-10-11 20:36:27 UTC
Version: 1.7.1 (cvs KDE_3_3_1_RELEASE) (using KDE Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.3 20040412 (ALT Linux, build 3.3.3-alt5)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.27-smp-sm

Bug discribed in subject. In additional: KMail 1.7 (KDE 3.3.0) forward message with attachment correctly.

Sorry what I mark it "crash": I hope be in time for 3.3.1 release.
Comment 1 Tom Albers 2004-10-13 20:52:05 UTC
which type of attachement? Please look at bug 60960. Should I close this as a dup?
Comment 2 Sergey Y. Afonin 2004-10-13 21:43:41 UTC
Hm... It's very similar, but I think no. I say about messages with Content-Type: Multipart/Mixed. I have not problem with it earlier (KDE versions from 2.0 to 3.3.0). I think what it very new bug. Possible last message in 60960 (From Ferdinand Gassauer 2004-10-05 16:14) must be here.

Comment 3 Sergey Y. Afonin 2004-10-13 21:49:08 UTC
additional: I'm rollback to kdepim-3.3.0 before report 91132 and make sure what bug absent. Now I use KMail 1.7 and all right.
Comment 4 Tom Albers 2004-10-13 21:52:51 UTC
Could you tell me how i can reproduce this, because I can't..
Comment 5 Sergey Y. Afonin 2004-10-13 22:13:02 UTC
I sent message to you. Please try to forward (by defaul forward, not by "forward as attachment") it to me.

Comment 6 Sergey Y. Afonin 2004-10-13 22:22:27 UTC
> forward inline.

Hm. Good... May be is it result of signing ? Or some changes before relese ?
I can't attempt to check 3.3.1 release now: my home internet connection is slow
dialup, but I can test release tomorrow.
Comment 7 Sergey Y. Afonin 2004-10-13 22:25:41 UTC
And... Your KMail is not 1.7.1:

User-Agent: KMail/1.7.50
is it release version ?
Comment 8 Sergey Y. Afonin 2004-10-14 10:50:02 UTC
I check 3.3.1. Bug exist. :-(

Comment 10 Jorge Adriano 2004-10-15 15:10:48 UTC
Yeap, bug exists in KDE 3.3.1 alright.
When forwarding inline, attachments are dropped.
Comment 11 Ingo Klöcker 2004-10-16 01:39:56 UTC
The bug has been fixed for KDE 3.3.2. If you compile yourself you might want to check out KDE_3_3_BRANCH.

So the bug is resolved and will be fixed in kde 3.3.2? oke. For the folks how like the forward inline as much as me... my solution; drag your email to the draft folder select "Copy here" edit your just create draft, modify the TO address... and you've got a sort-like forward inline msg. ;-)
Comment 16 Sergey Y. Afonin 2005-05-21 10:39:54 UTC
This bug exist for some other types of messages. :-(
Comment 17 Sergey Y. Afonin 2005-05-21 10:44:51 UTC
Created attachment 11124 [details]

Comment 19 Maciej Pilichowski 2007-02-15 18:49:31 UTC
The bug is still not fixed, but one thing is omitted in description (or maybe it is just me). When you force to send (later) such mail the forwarded mail appears in outbox. It is crippled (attachment is removed) but what's more, the icon near the mail line says there _is_ attachment.
If it is not strictly related to each other, could just this be fixed -- it misinforms users.

Comment 21 Thomas Jarosch 2007-02-20 10:28:57 UTC
I can confirm this used to work with KDE 3.5.5. I'm seeing the same issue after upgrading to KDE 3.5.6 / kmail 1.9.6 using the openSUSE packages.

Comment 23 Gunnar Wegner 2007-02-21 21:46:56 UTC
I can confirm entirely what is said in comment #21.
Comment 24 Jeremy Baker 2007-02-23 05:30:23 UTC
I can confirm that this is an issue with KDE 3.5.6/Kmail 1.9.6 on OpenSuse 10.2
Comment 25 p 2007-02-28 12:06:08 UTC
same versions as in comment #24 only on Suse 10.0 Same problem.

Does someone work on these bug reports here anyway? I still have (reproducable) bugs open for years.... lets hope the best.
Comment 26 Ian Powell 2007-03-01 00:16:38 UTC
I can also confirm this, no attachment is added to a forwarded email unless it is "Forward as attachment".
Comment 27 Gerrit Jan 2007-03-07 15:48:00 UTC
Same problem here!
Comment 28 Mikolaj Kaluszynski 2007-03-13 14:03:01 UTC
KMail Wersion 1.9.6, same problem.

It bases on templatetes, so maybe there is a need for additional template command %OATTACHMENTS or smth like this, which includes attachments from original message.
Comment 29 Ferdinand Gassauer 2007-03-14 00:14:18 UTC
KDE 3.5 SVN - kmail - includes the attachments in forwarded mail.

I do not use templates, I mean I didn't alter the config in this respect.

IMHO this problem comes and goes. (OpensSuSE 10.2 3.5.6 i586 has the problem)
So I hesitate to close it, because I am not a developper and nobody seems to have fixed this.
Comment 30 Gunnar Wegner 2007-04-05 17:01:18 UTC
On my openSuSE 10.2, the problem was resolved after upgrading to kdempim3 3.5.6-35.2 from http://software.opensuse.org/download/KDE:/KDE3/openSUSE_10.2/i586/
Comment 31 René Krell 2007-04-05 17:11:37 UTC
I can confirm that for the lastest OpenSuSE 10.2 kdepim3-3.5.6-35.2 RPM. This might be an effect of the development upstream (see rpm -q --changelog kdepim3):
---
* Tue Apr 03 2007 stbinner@suse.de
- update of 3_5_BRANCH.diff, includes new time zone infos
Comment 32 René Krell 2007-06-05 12:08:29 UTC
Seems to be fixed in KDE 3.5.7 and works for me now:
OpenSuSE RPMs:
Qt: 3.3.8
KDE: 3.5.7 "release 24.1"
KMail: 1.9.7
Comment 33 Pascal S 2007-06-21 23:59:07 UTC
fixed for me

Mandriva PowerPack Spring 2007.1
KDE : 3.5.7
Kmail 1.9.7
Comment 34 Thomas McGuire 2007-06-22 20:44:26 UTC
The last two comments say it works with KMail 1.9.7, therefore closing as FIXED.

If anyone still has this problem with 1.9.7, please add a comment and I'll reopen.
Comment 35 Alessio Maestrelli 2007-06-23 14:18:02 UTC
It is ok for me too
