Description Adam 2004-06-18 19:45:50 UTC
Version: 1.3.2 (using KDE 3.2.2, Gentoo)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.2 20031218 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.2-r5, propolice-3.3-7)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.5-gentoo-r1

When I start Konsole from the K Menu, it sometimes goes on desktop 1 instead of the current desktop. Only sometimes. When I tried to run it from the "Run Command" dialog, it went on the current desktop.

I want programs to start on the current desktop, unless something in the .Desktop file I run it from specifies a certain desktop. The one in my K Menu did not.

I believe I've noticed this behaviour with programs besides Konsole, but I can't quite remember and I certainly don't know which ones. I think it's most common with Konsole however.

I also noticed that in the advanced window settings, "Store Window Settings" was selected for Konsole, but not for my other applications. That may be the cause. I want to store a specific size, position, and maximized/minimized state for a certain application, but I don't want a specific desktop to be tied to an application.

"Store window settings" in KDE3.2 stores also the virtual desktop.
