Version:           3.2.0 (using KDE 3.2.0 RC1, Gentoo)
Compiler:          gcc version 3.3.2 20031218 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.2-r5, propolice-3.3-7)
OS:          Linux (i686) release 2.6.2-rc1

I looked at the kde-bugs-database and found a lot of bugs like this - but all where closed. I'm using KDE 3.2 RC1 and it used my old configuration file from KDE 3.1.5. The option for animated gifs is enabled (don't know the original name 'cause I'm using a german KDE).
Have a look at e.g. http://goettingen.studip.de/studip/show_smiley.php. I can see the animation just once :(
