Let's say I'm downloading 10 files, 2 at a time (I configured KGet not to exceed 2 simultaneous downloads). I pause one of them. Immediatly, another download starts to take its place. Fine. Then I un-pause that first file. Even if I already am downloading 2 files, that one starts again and I end up having three simultaneous downloads, whereas I had configured KGet to restrict itself to 2.

That's a bug, because KGet doesn't respect its own configuration. But what I suggest as a solution is more of a wish.

I think the best solution would be to "give a ticket" (i.e. a number) to each file in the download queue. In my example, files #1 and #2 get downloaded first. Then I pause #1, so #3 starts. When I un-pause #1, it gets a new number, #11, so it will wait its turn like all the others.

You could restart the numbering to 1 each time the download queue is empty.

Exactly, I really dislike the resuming of all files, when I intend to have all my scheduled files to get queued and the top most to start download.

KGet must respect the 'File Download Limit' option. 

And adding 1 more option to be called 'Force Download' so that the limit can be ignored.

It happens to me all the time that KGet will download all files simultaneously, no matter what I set in the "Limits" preferences tab.  Limits don't ever seem to work at all for me.  I'm also using SuSE; v10 with unofficial 3.5.1 KDE.

We are developing KGet in http://websvn.kde.org/branches/work/make_kget_cool/

This problem should be fixed with the "new" KGet for KDE4.

I remember being specific about the names of branches. "make kget cool" doesn't convey any meaning...

KGet really ignores limits and default queue when using konqueror integration.
And http://websvn.kde.org/branches/work/make_kget_cool/ doesn't work.
This bug is 4 years old... OMG...

What is the status of this bug now that KDE4 is out? I can't test it because I hit bug #155157 so my Konqueror is unusable.
