Description Eaden McKee 2003-02-03 15:56:31 UTC
Version: 3.1.0 (using KDE KDE 3.1)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources
Compiler: gcc 3.2 same problem happens on a gcc 2.9.5 compiled version
OS: Linux

When using "file manager - super user mode" from the K menu,
It loads up konqueror, loads the root's home directory, and as soon as its loaded it dissapears. I'm not sure if it's crashed or not ( bug dialog can't connect to x server? )

Same thing happends on both Debian Woody debs, and a kde I built on Debian Sid using konstruct.

I have the same problem on SUSE 8.1 with the pre-compiled binaries.
It seems to be a mcop-problem.

kdesu -t konqueror

  kdecore (KLocale):

same thing here on SuSe 8.1, if you sux - (password) to root then launch
konqueror it will work, it leaves an error message on the terminal "mcop
warning: user defined signal handler found for SIG_PIPE, overiding", but at
least it stays open. if you su to root,cd to the /opt/kde3/bin directory, and
launch konqueror,it crashes, the same as if it was launched from the k-menu. the
crash leaves the same error as above with the edition of "/tmp/mcop-<username>
is not owned by user.
