Description Panayotis Vryonis 2001-12-09 13:24:00 UTC
(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: kpilot
Version: KDE 2.2.0
Severity: wishlist
Installed from: RedHat RPMs
Compiler: Not Specified
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified

If you want to use a Palm to store adresses and events in Greek you usually use an extra package called "Greek Win". As far as I know this is actually a Greek grafity "driver" that comes with iso-8895-7 (actually win-1253 grrrr) fonts that replace the original ones.

When I sync my pilot with kpilot kpilot tries to convert my greek entries to unicode resulting in entries that look like "?????????" (qmarks).

Also althought I can write in greek in korganizer these entries are not transfered to the Pilot.

I think the solution would be a generic KPilot option like "Palm Character Set" that would enable the translation between iso-8869-x and unicode.

Hi. It's been _ages_ since you filed this bug, and I've finally gotten around
to fixing it.

Can you look at bug 52138 and 41283? Basically, I think I've fixed it, but I
need a database and a screenshot to test with. Then I can easily add the
encoding for your Pilot to the KPilot settings.
