(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***) Package: kmail Version: 1.3.1 (using KDE 2.2.1 pre) Severity: wishlist Installed from: Mandrake Linux 8.1 (Cooker) Compiler: gcc version 2.96 20000731 (Mandrake Linux 8.1 2.96-0.61mdk) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.8-19mdk OS/Compiler notes: It would be very usefull if KMail could at the very least bring up the Kppp dialog whenever the send or receive options are selected. Even better especially for receiving e-mails have an auto dial feature. In fact for all Internet transactions it would be great to bring up Kppp and / or have an auto dial feature in the route to host could not be found else where (firewall network etc.). (Submitted via bugs.kde.org) (Called from KBugReport dialog)
Should this be a WONTFIX? seems a bit more of a dial-on-demand thing. maybe we should move it to kppp.
By all means move it but please don't WONTFIX it !!! :-) Pretty please ! This is one of the most usefull features of Window$ (there I've said it) the ability to be able to goto a URL and get the dial up window (which is usually set to auto dial). I know that things like DialD exist but they are a real pain to set up and you get no visual feed back as to what is happening (no feed back at all if you can't access the sound devices for some reason). Moreover, there may be times when you click on a URL and don't want to go on-line. DialD gives you no option it just starts dialling.
So, why wasn't this moved to kppp? Matej
It should be marked as dup of bug 4354, which seems to be a standard bug for this in kppp. Matej
