(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***) Package: kppp Version: unbekannt (using KDE 2.1.1 ) Severity: normal Installed from: compiled sources Compiler: gcc version 2.95.2 20000220 (Debian GNU/Linux) OS: Linux 2.4.0 i686 OS/Compiler notes: hi a funny thing since two days... for areason i definitely dont know kppp which always worked properly does a strange thing. When establishing the connection to a isp it deletes all entries in /etc/resolv.conf so that every browser does have a DNS-problem. After finishing kppp doesnt restore nothing so that the /etc/resolv.conf stays empty. I really dont know why because I did change nothing and this thing is going on... except if you start it as root then everything is normal but as a regular user you have to fight with the real IP-adresses... And this happens with every ISP and after a new kppprc-file. This is my kppprc: [Account0] AccountingEnabled=0 AccountingFile= Authentication=3 AutoDNS=0 AutoName=0 BeforeConnect= BeforeDisconnect= Command= DNS=195.182.96.29195.182.96.60 DefaultRoute=1 DisconnectCommand= Domain=planet-interkom.de ExDNSDisabled=0 Gateway=0.0.0.0 IPAddr=0.0.0.0 Name=planet-interkom Password=surfer Phonenumber=010900191799 ScriptArguments= ScriptCommands= StorePassword=1 SubnetMask=0.0.0.0 Username=anonymer VolumeAccountingEnabled=0 pppdArguments= [General] DefaultAccount=planet-interkom DockIntoPanel=1 NumberOfAccounts=1 PPPDebug=0 QuitOnDisconnect=1 ShowLogWindow=0 iconifyOnConnect=0 [Modem] Device=/dev/ttyS0 Speed=115200 I am using KDE 2.1.1 with Qt 2.3.0 on Debian 2.2r2 with kernel 2.4.0 maybe this helps - did it ever occur?
