Description Keith Lee 2010-06-27 18:02:48 UTC
Version: 1.70.0 (using KDE 4.3.5)
OS: Linux

K3B v 1.70 doesn't recognize a DVD medium as legitimate even after I just burnt to the same medium using K3b v 1.70. It might recognize other DVD brands or the same brand; but, not this one. This has happened twice in the past two days.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
Take out a blank Sony DVD.
Burn files onto it with "Start Multisession Mode" with "Verify Files" setting.
Ensure that the files are burnt onto the same DVD.
Attempt to burn more files onto the same Sony DVD in "Continue Multisession Mode". See how the Burn Medium type asking for an "Appropriate Medium".

Actual Results:
I cannot burn any files onto the DVD even when there is enough space.

Expected Results:
I should be able to burn files onto the DVD

Hi, thanks for the report. Does K3b not recognize medium at all, or it's marked as "unknown"? Can you elaborate more on this (you can attach screenshot if you want).
Also: run "kdebugdialog" and check "k3b" on the list. Next run k3b from console and attach its output here (preferably as a text file attachment).

Michael:
Unfortunately, running kdebugdialog doesn't show k3b in it's list.
Due to this error, I cannot show any k3b bugging output from the
main window. Sorry.
When I put the DVD into the DVD burner, the k3b loads up with the
multisession mode at "Start multisession" and the Burn Medium tab
asks "Please insert an empty or appendable medium". When I change
the multisession mode as "Continue Multisession", the Burn Medium
tab asks "Please insert a suitable medium".

Sincerely,
Keith D. Lee

I see, so this bug has been already fixed. Please update K3b to at least version 1.92 (2.0 RC3).
