Description Cristian Tibirna 2010-06-19 21:02:26 UTC
Version: 2.3.1-GIT (using KDE 4.4.4)
OS: Linux

On startup, amarok presents a playlist with a toolbar at the bottom (for rapid manipulation actions). This is apparently a secondary toolbar that is by default programmed to appear with icons only on startup, regardless of the configuration in System Settings/Appearance/Style/Fine tuning/Secondary toolbar.

But if user plays with configuration in previously indicated System Settings page and applies this played-with configuration, the secondary toolbar in the amarok playlist instantly obeys whatever configuration is selected for the secondary toolbar icon/text there.

It happens that by default the setting is "Text besides icons", which, upon applying, makes the playlist very large and no splitter manipulation can render it smaller again. Even if the configuration in the System Settings is changed to "No text" for secondary toolbars, the amarok playlist's toolbar obeys that change but doesn't allow even then redimensioning to more acceptable (smaller) sizes.

The only way to work around this problem is to restart amarok (which once again renders the secondary toolbar text-free and the playlist dock resizeable).

Thanks.

Reproducible: Always
