Version: (using KDE 4.1.2) OS: Linux Installed from: Fedora RPMs I enabled the "Show Paint" effect about a month ago and then disabled it after about a minute of usage. I was using KDE 4.1.1 back then. Since then, I upgraded to KDE4.1.2 through Fedora rpms. The problem is: I still see remnants of this effect from time to time (let's say, every ~10 minutes), most notably in firefox, but also in qt applications. The screen does not change its color the way it does when the effect is activated in a normal fashion. I see these paint highlight lines only. When I roll the mouse over these lines sometimes these lines move around slowly as the mouse pointer passes over them, sometimes they don't. And sometimes they disappear with a simple mouse pointer move. If they don't disappear by mouse movement I have to minimize-remaximize the window in consideration to get rid of them. I am using a nvidia, with proprietary drivers. I'd be glad if someone can offer me a workaround (removing/recreating a config file etc) until we find a fix, since this is annoying me every day.
Problematic effect is blur, disable it and the random lines will stop occurring. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 158255 ***
