Description Jonathan Thomas 2008-07-30 20:37:28 UTC
Version: 4.1.00 (KDE 4.1.0) (using 4.1.00 (KDE 4.1.0), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.24-20-generic

The static background image of http://annma.blogspot.com/2008/07/vacation.html shows artifacts when you scroll down the page. Sometimes if you scroll slow enough it catches up and repaints, but if you scroll with the scrollwheel you'll generally have something that looks like the attached picture.

Using KDE 4.1.00 (KDE 4.1.0) (KDEmod) in ArchLinux i686:

I can confirm this bug when the window is smaller than 998px of weight.

At <= 998px weight, Konqueror shows a horizontal scrollbar at bottom, and the background is OK (no artifacts).

At >= 999px weight, Konqueror doesn't show the horizontal scrollbar and artifacts appear on background when scrolling.

May be it's a painter bug related to bug 165618
Comment 3 Dario Andres 2008-11-29 20:44:34 UTC
Now, the bug is present even when the window is <= 998px weight.
This bug is still valid in KDE4.1.3 and KDE4.2svn (kdelibs rev. 890034).

Confirming here using:

Qt: 4.4.3
KDE: 4.1.85 (KDE 4.1.85 (KDE 4.2 Beta2))
kdelibs svn rev. 898705 / kdebase svn rev. 898705
on ArchLinux x86_64 - 2.6.27.8

Still seeing the behavior of bug 194291 occasionally with KDE 4.3.4.
I'm still not convinced 194291 is a duplicate of this one.

Just hit bug 194291 again in 4.4.4, which was closed and marked as a dup of this one. It is not a dup of this one. Please reopen bug 194291.

There hasn't been any activity on this issue for some time. Please check if this issue is still valid for Konqueror 4.8.4 or later.
