Please give more detail. Read also http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html, please.
How did you send the message? Normally, when KMail stores sent messages in the local sent-mail folder, sending messages has nothing to do with IMAP. So how did you end up with a message in an IMAP sent-mail folder?
Comment 2 Ferdinand Gassauer 2008-07-22 14:42:44 UTC
2 possibilities for putting sent mails into an IMAP sent-mail folder

* Identity - > advanced > Sentmail folder -> select IMAP Sent mail (same for trash and templates)

* folder -> properties -> keep replies in this folder

IIRC the problem once existed also in KDE 3
Comment 3 Thomas McGuire 2008-07-22 17:35:40 UTC
I can't reproduce this by using "Keep replies in this folder", with an online IMAP folder. The sent message is copied to the IMAP folder, and I can send it again without problems.
