Version:           1.10 (using KDE 4.0.98)
Installed from:    SuSE RPMs
OS:                Linux

When you start the composer the spellcheck menu apparently selects the first (in aplhabetical order) language but the text you type in is apparently not checked agains any language. If you manually select a language from the composer's languages menu then the check is activated.

I think it should select and start checking against the default identity's language.
