It appears that in KDE 4.x there is no show desktop keyboard shortcut.

Is there plans to add one, I think a lot of people want this for example like Win+D or Win+M.

Note this is different to Plasma show dashboard & this shortcut was available in KDE 3.x

I admit it's very useful and there's lack of it. In 4.0.5 not found it.

Is there a workaround to this? I'm trying 4.1 right now and I'm unable to find it. I use the functionality constantly in my 3.5.x.

currently you can add plasmoid button 'show desktop' to the panel if that helps.

the idea is that having it as a keyboard shortcut is essential

In KDE 4.1 you can set a shortcut to any plasmoid you want, but there isn't a GUI for assigning shortcuts. The request for a GUI for assigning shortcuts to plasmoids is bug 167881.
