Version: (using KDE 4.0.2) Installed from: Mandriva RPMs Mandriva Bugreport : https://qa.mandriva.com/show_bug.cgi?id=38787 Description of problem: I start the KDE Display settings tool on my laptop. It correctly shows the External monitor and the LVDS settings. However, when I make a change e.g. change the resolution of the external monitor from 1024x768 to 1280x1024, the Apply button stays grey and unclickable Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 4.0.2 How reproducible: Every time Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start KDE4 2. Start settings application and click the Display icon. 3. In the Display tool make a change. 4. Apply button does not become active.
Not sure why this is assigned to Plasma Developers... Anyway in trunk the Apply button works. Nicolas, I stumbled on several such bugs in System Settings yesterday (see http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=159047) and the conclusion was that those bugs should be reported to each kcm component owner (which I did not have time to do). Can you check in 4.0.2 what is working and what is not?
I can confirm this bug on Kubuntu 8.04 (Hardy) with KDE 4.0.3 packages. I can't change screen resolution because apply button does not become active
Reassigning... (works for me with trunk)

In Gentoo KDE version 4.0.5 it's the same. I have notebook and external LCD monitor. I am using xrandr, and every time I run Display settings, everything mess up, and the Apply button stay gray.
