Version: 0.12.7 (using KDE 3.5.8) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux The problem is as follows: My friends use MSN Messenger Live Plus in their computer while talking to me on my Kopete 0.12.7 under KDE 3.5.8. We try to send each other webcam images. If the one sending is me, it will simply ignore the request (I send, he accepts and nothing happens). This seems to be discussed in other bugs, so I won't go on with this. However, if the one sending is he, I will get the acceptance message, then wait for something to happen, and the recieve a crash message. saying kpete produced signal 11 (SIGSEGV), which usually means that the aplication has a failure. Here follows the inverse trace (I hope i'm getting the translations ok since my system is in spanish and says 'Trazado inverso'). Once this message appears, kopete will just close itself and I have to open it up again. I remember once being able to see someone on the webcam, some 5 months ago. I can also see myself if I enter the "configure..." screen for video devices so my cam works ok. I'd be delighted to recieve a solution to either of the two problems. Thanks a lot! PS: I read that the solution to the first mentioned is to open ports 6891:6901 for *UDP*, but I don't really know what it means. Could someone tell me please? ----------------------------------------------------Inverse Trace----------------------------------------------------- (no debugging symbols found) Using host libthread_db library "/lib/tls/i686/cmov/libthread_db.so.1". I am unable to reproduce this crash in KDE 4.0.99 just because I receive no invitation at all (see bug 161123)
We've completely replaced the current MSN implementation with a new MSN implementation which If you continue to experience this bug after testing the new implementation (which can be gotten from our subversion repository or with the KDE 4.2 Beta 1 release), PLEASE, open a new bug rather than reopening this bug. Thank you for your time and efforting in helping us find and fix problems in Kopete.
