Version: 0.50.1 (KDE 4.0.3) (using KDE 4.0.3) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux The other peer doesn't even receive the "see me webcam" invitation thingy. Webcam does work on Kopete fine (eg can mess about with it on the preferences panel). Kubuntu Hardy, Kopete 0.50.1 (the one provided with KDE), KDE 4.0.3.
Just tried someone to request for my webcam and it didn't work either. The other peer is using latest msn as provided by windows xp (I know because it's my sister's computer which I rdp to)
Confirmed with KDE 4.0.99. I tried that with the other side having windows live messenger 2008 (build 8.5.1302.101). We tried all possible combinations (send and request webcam both from kopete and windows live) and nothing works. nobody received any invitation.
I think it is also an usability issue. When clicking "View Contant's Webcam" or "Send Webcam" shoud recieve an instant response for your action telling (1) what you have done and (2) what will happen. Something like "$yournick requested webcam. Waiting for $contact_nick approval.". All this in a text like when you send a nudge. Not recieving an intant response makes user untrust the application. Kopete 0.5.80 Debian experimental 4.0.98 binaries
Just as an update, the bug is still present. Still running Hardy, but on KDE4.1RC1
Same here running kopete svn trunk r836553. Tested with the windows xp messenger thing, and recieved nothing.
It is replaced by the WLM protocol. If this bug is still valid please open it against the WLM protocol
