Sometimes Akregator crashes because errors in data and Archive's files.
For instance, after register bug 155260, I tried remove all files in Archive directory and "voilá", Akregator come back! Probably the problem was in a .mk4 file.
I think it is a good idea to create a tool for checking and recovering of Akregator's databases.
