Description Sami Liedes 2007-11-10 01:40:33 UTC
Version: 3.5.7 (using KDE KDE 3.5.8)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

There was discussion of (almost) this years ago in #35110, but it seems to have gotten closed with the explanation "Your problem will be fixed when we have a solution for bug #35927/#32043".

I think it would be nice if there was a confirmation dialog (or at least an option to enable a confirmation dialog) for closing a New Event dialog with any significant changes made. I use KOrganizer a lot and I don't know why but I have several times managed to accidentally close the dialog from keyboard using the shortcuts (I don't use the mouse a lot) while entering new event information. Probably because with keyboard shortcuts it's easy to hit the wrong key occasionally when jumping from one field to another.

Losing the information entered in the New Event dialog is often already a fairly sizeable piece of work and while this probably hasn't taken an hour of my time counting all the cases, it's still a frustration.

Starting with the KOrganizer 4.2.0, every time you [cancel] the event, to-do, or journal editor you will be prompted to verify the cancel.

this should satisfy this bug report. so closing.
