Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.6) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux Hi there... Since about a week I cannot use Konqueror through a proxy-server - the setting is just being ignored. When I ie try to open Google when i am not directly connected to the internet, but to a proxy, Konqueror won't try to establish the connection through the proxy-server. The error message tells me that a connection to http://www.google.com couldn't be established, no matter what I configure in proxy-settings. I also tried to use environment-variables, but that didn't work, too. It doesn't matter what method I use to set the proxy - it's being ignored. I created a whole new profile to verify that it's not a problem with my personal configuration. Unfortunately I cannot tell exactly what happened when the whole trouble begun. Some weeks ago everything worked fine. I found two really old bugs describing the same problem: Bug #7302 and #6977
You might have accidentally used the konqueror "HTML Settings" plugin to mess up the KIO proxy configuration. Regardless, this is a rather old unsupported version of KDE ; so if problem persists, please reopen the ticket.
