Description Yukiko Bando 2007-07-06 16:07:31 UTC
Version: (using KDE Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
OS: Linux

It seems that kwrite doesn't support CJK input via Qt immodule (yet). I can trigger input methods by pressing Ctrl+Space but preedit (characters before being sent to applications) is not shown at all. If I try to convert invisible preedit, candidates appear at the bottom of the window instead of just below the preedit. This is what happens when using XIM. If I commit a converted string, the application accepts it.

Konsole has the similar problem but I was told that the input method event support had not yet been re-implemented for Konsole in KDE 4.

Input method support was not (fully) implemented at the time you reported, and we also received a separate report about this: bug #149428. Chances are high the issues you saw have at least partially been fixed in the meantime.

I will mark this report as a duplicate of bug #149428 to better keep track of the remaining issues. Could you try again with a more recent snapshot (or RC2), and report any issues you still see, there?

Thanks!
